We are the Liars.
We are beautiful, privileged and live a life of carefree luxury.
We are cracked and broken.
A story of love and romance.
A tale of tragedy.
Which are lies?
Which is truth?
Read it. And if anyone asks you how it ends, just LIE. #wewereliars
This review will be short. They say, the less you know about the story the better you lose yourself into it. I guess to keep the mystery alive. It may not be nessessary since the publication was three years ago. But I like the idea of keeping the secret – and lie. So I’ll give you just this much:
- Before I started reading, I knew nothing about the book. I knew the title and author since I saw it on several reading lists, blogs and recommendation sites. But I highly avoided reading any reviews or book impressions. I recommend you to just jump into it blindly.
- The book has an unique writing style which doesn’t fit everyones reading preferences. People tend to give it less stars just because of the way it is written – which isn’t fair. If you ask me, the writing matches very well to the story considering the time and by whom it is told. Personally I had no difficulties while reading. Quite the opposite – I find the writing really powerful and emotional.
- It is worth reading. It is worth reading twice.
- These words are no lies!
I liked it. From the beginning to the very last two words. It broke me and left me to die in a pool of emotions. Read it. And if anyone asks you how it ends, just LIE.
